We need to remove the current time rules. I’m Master Rank 1493, and a major issue with the time I’ve spent on here is they get 3 minutes and every time someone does an action they gain time back. I’ve played quite a few people that stall the clock out till it gets very low, activates 2 cards and gains time back. Its very BM and annoying, not to mention if its the first game, they have to wait out the whole 3 minutes, then the 1:30 on siding, then 15 seconds on who goes first and then another 3 minutes. I understand the speed doubles after a certain point, but on ranked I don’t want to wait 45 minutes for one game because someone is salty or slow plays to make someone mad. It should after 30 seconds of AFK double the speed of the clock, after a minute of AFK or no actions it should triple to speed of the clock. Anytime lost once it triples the speed should not be regained. As a judge for the TCG its frustrating knowing how many slow play warnings people would get on this dueling app.
A good place to start is that when a player does timeout, the penalties should increase. I just had a player timeout on their turn (3+ minutes), timeout side-decking (another 3 minutes) and then timeout on their first opportunity to play in the 2nd game (another 3 minutes).
Their ragequit (or computer crashing, if you want to give them the benefit of the doubt) means I sit there for 9 minutes to win my ranked match…
If they timeout on a game then a side-deck consecutively, the match should just end.
All of this is being addressed with 3.0, the difficulty is determining the difference between slow play or say bad connection or walking away for a moment. I believe the team doesn’t wanna go into to many details on the solution as then slow players just adjust the “plan” on how to do it.
That would not result in a 9 minute wait, while I agree a change needs to be made, lets not exaggerate. 1:45 for the first turn, 2:15 max for siding, another 1:45 game 2. so 5:45 (6 if they were afk right from RPS)
Additionally, some of the current policy is actually based on the official time rules outlined in Konami’s tournament policy.
There is a 5 minute wait for a game loss when a round begins. After that, there is another 5 minutes, 10 minute total, wait before a match loss.
In both your estimation, and the actual times given by Durunir, this is actually faster than Konami’s policy.
Sure my math was wrong, but the point stands. This has happened 3 times already and I’ve been using omega for 4 days.
1:45 for the first turn
How is it not 3 minutes? This doesn’t usually happen off RPS. They’ll make a misplay at some point. Maybe early game, maybe late.

I don’t think this matters? In a tournament you’re waiting for the next round anyway. If I’m playing ranked I just want to have fun on my computer at home. At a certain point, I’d chose losing MMR so I can queue again since I don’t have unlimited time to play yu-gi-oh.

Happy to hear that. Thanks for your hard work.
