Can't sync summon Chaos angel using Zalen the Shackled Dragon

Zalen says: If this card you control would be used as Synchro Material, you can treat it as a non-Tuner.

Chaos Angel says: 1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner LIGHT or DARK monsters For this card’s Synchro Summon, you can treat 1 LIGHT or DARK monster you control as a Tuner.

The bug doesn’t allow you to sync with Kewl tune Reco (LIGHT) and Zalen (DARK).

Are you locked to only summoning Tuners?

Thanks for letting me read Cue, I thought only the spell locks in tuners
